How pastor provided gun for our operations – Kidnappers (PICTURED)
The Abia State-born suspect, who was arrested with an Ak 47 rifle, told Crime Alert that he is a deliverance minister at The Bride Assembly, a Church located at Ijesha area of the State. He explained further that the rifle found in his possession belongs to a friend he met at Ikire prayer mountain in Osun State.
However, police sources intimated Crime Alert that Eze was arrested during investigations into the gruesome murder of a police corporal, Iweka Ramat, at kirikiri area of Lagos State. Sources said Eze and one of his colleagues were accosted inside a taxi cab by a police patrol team at Berger axis of kirikiri Town in February 2013 and while the police attempted to search them, they bolted out of the cab and the policemen went after them. The police officer, Ramat, who went after Eze was later found dead in an isolated part of the area after a deafening sound of gunfire was heard.
The taxi driver was taken into custody and later transferred to the SARS where he was interrogated. It was gathered at that point that Eze contacted the taxi driver on the phone before he picked them. "We retrieved the phone number from the taxi driver and we contacted the network provider who furnished us with Eze's home address. On April 4, 2013 the officer in charge of SARS, Sp Abba Kyari led a team of crack operatives to Eze' s apartment at No.113, Idowu Street, Olodi Apapa, Lagos, around 2 am in the morning where they apprehended him.
He later took the operatives to an apartment in Ikorodu area of the state where they recovered an Ak 47 rifle with number 6090. When we interrogated him further, Eze led us to arrest six other members of his gang identified as Sunday James, 29; Emmanuel Iloakazi, 26; Ikechukwu Okafor aka Osuofia I, 37; Obinna Egbugha, 26; Ikechukwu Chedom, and Christian Ezinkwo aka Alhaji, 3, while two additional AK47 rifles, 11 Ak47 magazines loaded with 30 rounds of live ammunition, were recovered from them,"the source added.
When Crime Alert spoke with Eze who hails from Osisioma village, Abia State, he said the AK 47 rifle belongs to his friend Uchenna. According to him "On October 15, 2012, I met a brother, Uchenna where I used to pray for people – Mountain of Mercy, Ikoyi, Osun State. After three days' prayer, he started calling me. He asked me where I live and do prayer. I told him that I live in the Leadway Estate, Eruwe.
He later came with one Ogonna on January 2. Ogonna collected my number and left. I did not see him for more than a month until I was about traveling to Anambra for a church programme. I left them in Ikorodu and travelled to Anambra. I was there when my brother, Kingsley called me that the police had arrested him because of me. I was arrested and brought to SARS. Uchenna told me that his brother used to bring cars from abroad and asked me to follow him to bring them. We went and brought a Toyota Camry car. He gave me N30, 000.

"I only prayed for Uchenna before my encounter with them. I am married. My wife sells fruits and she is carrying a seven-month pregnancy. It was James that put me into trouble because I arrested him. I did not participate in four armed robbery and kidnap operations as he is claiming. I don't even know that I was arrested for belonging to a robbery/kidnapping gang. It is a surprise to me because I have never been involved in this type of case."
Sunday James who is the second in command to the gang said "I am from Ebonyi State but I live in Coker, Orile, Lagos. I was introduced to the gang by Victor Emmanuel, who is the leader of the gang.
In January, Emmanuel rented an apartment in Ajah area and in February, we started the business fully. Whenever we kidnap, we take the victim to the apartment. We have kidnapped four people so far.
"The first person we kidnapped paid N1m ransom and my share was N100,000. Emmanuel received N200,000 since he was the leader. The second victim paid N1m and we shared the money in the same manner." The suspect however added that they later increased their ransoms for subsequent operations. "We later started demanding N2m as ransom.
After our last operation, we bought a jeep for N1.5m and the remaining money was shared equally. I got N70,000 and that was the last time I saw the gang," he said. The suspect said the gang was much organized as every member had his own role to play.
According to him, a gang member had a duty of feeding and looking after victims while in captivity. He said, "Emmanuel was the one responsible for spotting people that we will kidnap. He was the one who usually contacted the families of victims and he also collected the ransom."Pastor's job is to provide the guns that the gang will use. I only follow the gang but I don't carry guns."
Kidnap of a prominent person
When asked how the gang usually picked its victims, the suspect said anyone seen in a flashy car was a potential victim. He said, "Emmanuel usually sits on the passenger side and anytime he spots someone in a flashy car, we trail the person and then grab him or her. We then dump the victim's vehicle somewhere before contacting the family. We have never kidnapped a prominent person."
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Umar Manko, told newsmen while parading the suspects that, " in our efforts to rid the state of kidnapping, we were able to identify two groups of kidnappers, we have been able to uproot one group and we believe that the other group is responsible for the kidnap of the LCDA boss. We also sealed off two of the kidnapper's dens located at Ikorodu and Ibeju-Lekki and a storey-building belonging to one of the kidnappers located at Ajangbadi area of Lagos.
25-year-old man rapes 2-year-old cousin in Lagos (PICTURED)
Nneobong was said to have been living with the little girl's grandmother, Iya Wura, who resides at at 18 Awoseyin Street, Somolu.
The victim's grandmother was said to have left the victim in Nnebong's care but came back around 3 pm to the cry of the victim who kept pointing at her private part; a gesture which aroused Iya Wura suspicion.
Reports say the victim's mother currently resides in Calabar, Crosss River state, while the toddler is Nnebong's cousin.
A neighbour, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said it was the girl's cries that made her grandmother suspicious.
He said, "It was the child who actually made Iya Wura know that David had raped her. The grandmother raised the alarm and all the neighbours pounced on David.
"Although she was upset with David, Iya Wura and other relatives, who were present, did not want to get him arrested.
"They only wanted him to leave the house and relocate elsewhere, but neighbours insisted on involving the police.
"At the time David was taken to Alade Police Division, there was still semen on the child."
As of Tuesday evening, the relatives of the victim were yet to report to the police station to write statements although Nneobong was said to still be in police custody.
The victim's relatives however insist they want to resolve the case "in-house", without the police.

A soldier was allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted by four women for nearly a week before being stoned and dumped in a mountain range.

The 25-year-old victim's ordeal started when he took up the offer of a lift to the city of Mutare in Zimbabwe.
Two women and a man were in the car, a Mercedes Benz, and, after driving for about an hour towards the city, the driver diverted from the route.
When the victim complained, he was threatened with a knife.
Manicaland police spokesman, Assistant Inspector Nuzondiwa Clean, told Zimbabwean paper NewsDay: 'After diverting from the route, the complainant asked where they were heading to and they told him they were going to get some food.
'The soldier requested to be dropped, but the driver produced a knife and threatened him with it. One of the female passengers blindfolded the complainant with a black cloth.'
According to Mr Clean, they then took the complainant to an unknown house where they undressed him and took away his phone and $35.
The suspects ordered the man to be intimate with one of the women on several occasions and he was held between April 19-23.
He was then blindfolded again and dropped in the Dangamvura Mountains when, according to police, he was stoned on his left foot, causing a serious injury.
The suspect then drove off.
The soldier made a report at Sakubva Police Station, prompting investigations, and the suspects are now being hunted.

Jonathan, Okonjo-Iweala Tip Aig-Imoukhuede As Next CBN Governor.
"If all goes as planned, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede will become the next Governor of the Central Bank," one of our sources said. Mr. Aig-Imoukhuede, the Group Managing Director of Access Bank Plc, also enjoys the support of Nigeria's Finance Minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, said one source.
The banker, whose closeness to both Mr. Jonathan and Ms.Okonjo-Iweala is well known, is regarded within Nigeria's financial circles as a controversial figure who has remained unscathed because of his high-powered political contacts.
Mr. Aig-Imoukhuede's ties to Mr. Jonathan and Nigeria's Finance Minister have helped him obscure his bank's widespread and obscene involvement in the $6 billion oil subsidy scam that rocked Nigeria last year.
A top level Nigerian financial analyst with deep knowledge of the oil sector told SaharaReporters that Mr. Aig-Imoukhuedeand his bank "should have been on the hot seat over their role in the fuel subsidy fraud." Instead, the analysts said, President Jonathan appointed the banker to a committee that enabled Mr. Aig-Imoukhuede and Access Bank to escape critical searchlight
A source told SaharaReporters that current CBN governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has expressed a desire not to seek a second term at the end of his current five-year tenure.
Mr. Sanusi's term as Nigeria's current governor of the CBN is due toexpire in April, 2014. Last year, President Jonathan appointed Mr. Aig Imoukhuede to chair a committee on fuel subsidies. The appointment helped the banker to cover up his bank's involvement in the oil subsidy scam.

In an interview over the alleged attempt on his life, Melaye who expressed indignation over the alleged cold response by the Police at the check point towards his complaint to them, said it was the FCT Director of the Department of state security and an Assistant Commissioner of Police that came to his rescue.
He said that there were threats to his life before the incident and that he had reported the threat to the Inspector General of Police and had sought for police protection; though his letter was acknowledged, nothing had been done.
Giving account of what happened the Monday night, he sai: "Basically, I was coming from the National Hospital and I noticed shortly after the bridge before the ICPC, a certain black Golf car which got close and overtook me in a very dangerous manner.
"I had to stop for the car to drive far ahead before I continued. Shortly after ChurchGate Building I noticed the same car from afar parked by the end of the road with all the four doors opened and there was light inside but no one was inside.
"I was approaching a bend that will take you to the twin towers of the NNPC. At that point I just heard sporadic shooting, maybe to the air or whatever. I accelerated my drive. As I was approaching the last bend I just heard gun shot at my car.
"At that point, I ran to the next police checkpoint. I told them to make a radio call that I had just escaped an assassination attempt and that the assailants were in a Golf car and that they should block all routes.
"Unfortunately, the police said where the incident happened was not their beat. I said you are a federal police, okay, make a radio call that this is the complaint so that the police around there can cordon that area off, but they did not."

My husband returned to Asaba about the same time Nneka came back from her Ibadan trip.

Boko Haram Ambushes Returning WAEC Students And Principal And Slits Their Throats In Broad Daylight.
It was learnt that the gunmen killed many students of Monguno Secondary School by slitting their throats, after laying an ambush for them as they returned home from centres where they wrote the West African Examination Council (WAEC) Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE).
Monguno is 135 kilometres North of Maiduguri, the state capital; and it is considered to be an epicentre of activities of the Islamist sect.
The gunmen, according to a villager, Mallam Aisami, ambushed the candidates on their way home on foot and bicycles. He added that the assailants tied the students' hands together at their backs and slit their throats on the foot paths leading to the school premises in the afternoon.
He said when the dastardly deed had been done, the gunmen fled on three motorcycles towards Marte Local Government Area of Northern Borno before men of the Joint Task Force (JTF) rushed to the scene three hours after the students were already slewn.
Spokesman of JTF, Lieutenant Colonel Sagir Musa, and the Borno State Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Musa Inuwa Kubo, confirmed the incident on Saturday.
They stated that it was a very "unfortunate and frightening incident," decrying all that had been happening in the state.
Sagir and Kubo could, however, not ascertain the exact number of students allegedly killed by the suspects at Monguno.
Kubo, in a telephone interview, told journalists that; "I am calling on the people of Borno State to continue to pray and fast so that the incessant attacks and killings in the state cease peace and unity are restored
